The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) and College of Business have created a combined 5-year program of study that can result in earning both the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
Applicants to the Professional Veterinary Medical Program are encouraged to consider extending their veterinary education to include a 1-year start in the MBA program. Students begin the MBA program with a full time evening schedule the first year, continue with dual-program requirements in year two and three, and finish up with full time DVM courses in year four and five. After successfully completing the first year of the MBA program, students will be granted admission to the first year of the DVM Program and will be expected to complete the remaining MBA course requirements concurrently with the first two years of DVM curriculum. The MBA degree is conferred upon completion at the end of the third year.
NOTE: Completion of a Bachelors Degree is required by the College of Business to begin the MBA program. You may apply for admission to the MBA/DVM combined program prior to receiving your undergraduate degree, but you must have been awarded the bachelor's degree prior to matriculation in the fall of your admission year. Exceptions to this policy are infrequently granted.
To pursue admission to this program, you must apply to the DVM Program and complete the MBA/DVM section of the Colorado Supplemental Application.
