Tour the Critical Care Unit of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital is located at 300 West Drake Road in Fort Collins, Colorado. It is where third and fourth year veterinary students begin their clinical experiences while enrolled in the professional veterinary curriculum.

The Critical Care Unit

Critical Care is an important regional facility for the western United States. Animals which are seriously ill or injured are brought to Colorado State University for the finest patient care provided in veterinary medicine.

The Critical Care Team

This 900 square foot facility is staffed 24 hours each day throughout the year by a team of veterinary specialists, residents, interns, a superior nursing staff, and by fourth year veterinary students. Each patient is given individualized attention and constantly monitored for changes in physical condition.

A Family Visit

Family visits are encouraged for patients in critical care. Nothing perks up the whole family like a visit with familiar folks! Due to the constant activity in the area, visits need to be scheduled beforehand and sometimes the family can go out on the grassy area of the front lawn and take a walk under Colorado blue skies!
