Cardiology and Doppler Echocardiography

This week-long course is ideal for practitioners having a desire to learn or improve their skills in standard echocardiographic imaging (M-mode and two dimensional) and in Doppler echocardiography (spectral and color). In addition to providing an ideal environment for enhancement of technical skills, the course will provide discussions regarding interpretation of the cardiac ultrasound and Doppler data. Finally, the course will include discussions of management of common cardiovascular disorders. The entire week will be spent in the cardiology clinic. However, appointments will be limited in order to provide a didactic as well as "hands on" experience. Participants will attend introductory seminars reviewing the response of the cardiovascular system to common hemodynamic lesions, basics of echo/Doppler, clinical pharmacology of common cardiovascular agents and management of congestive heart failure. Normal dogs and cats will be used for echo/Doppler practice sessions. In addition, a limited number of clinical appointments will be scheduled to provide participants the opportunity to image and discuss management of clinical cases. This course is limited to 3 participants per week in order to provide close interaction with the instructors and plenty of supervised practice.

REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION INFORMATION

Pre-registration is required for all veterinary continuing education conferences. Courses are subject to cancellation when registration is inadequate to cover costs of the program. Registration at least six weeks before the course will help prevent cancellation. Course fee is payable to Colorado State University. Fee includes proceedings, materials, supplies, refreshments and in some cases, lunch. Please see course schedules for more information.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Registration fees are fully refundable until 60 days prior to the course, 50% refundable between 60 and 30 days prior to the course and non-refundable after 30 days prior to the course. Fees will be refunded 100% at any date if vacated spot can be filled.
