Graduate Studies in Clinical Sciences

The Department of Clinical Sciences offers graduate degrees at both the MS and PhD levels.  A number of research opportunities are available for graduate students in Clinical Sciences, particularly within the major departmental Academic Centers.  These Academic Centers include the Animal Population Health Institute, the Orthopedic Research Center, the Animal Cancer Center, the Integrated Livestock Management Center, and the Center for Companion Animal Studies.  Students interested in graduate training in the department are urged to contact individual faculty members within their areas of interest regarding the availability of laboratory positions.  For a list of faculty members and their areas of research, see the Faculty Webpage.

Students enrolling in the program will also benefit from the close association between researchers in the department and clinicians in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, who examine and treat a large and diverse population of both large and small animal patients.  There is an active seminar program within the department, with weekly seminars that feature local scientists and clinicians as well as invited speakers.  The department also encourages collaborations between faculty and graduate students within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Enrolling within the Department of Clinical Sciences will provide you with the opportunity to be involved with an active and multidisciplinary research program focused on biomedical research and translational medicine.  The University is situated in Fort Collins at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, which provides for many outdoor recreational opportunities, plus a very pleasant climate.  Please contact us if you have questions regarding the graduate program in the department and we look forward to hearing from you.
