Student Scholars Program
The Center for Environmental Medicine (CEM) at Colorado State University offers a Student Scholars Program to recognize and encourage excellence in students interested in fields related to the Center’s areas of focus, including Systems Biology and Mechanisms, Detection and Intervention, and Quantitative Biology and Modeling.
As a Student Scholar, you’ll have the option to attend CEM Administration Core meetings and participate in the activities of the Center. These activities include organizing and hosting visiting scientists, annual retreats, research workshops, and research community activities. You’ll also be eligible for a $500 stipend to cover travel expenses to a CEM-approved national meeting.
Once selected, you’ll retain the title of Center for Environmental Medicine Student Scholar until graduation. You’ll be part of a team, along with faculty, staff and fellow Student Scholars, helping to shape the academic, research and outreach activities of the CEM.
We encourage you to apply for candidacy into the Student Scholars program by submitting an application during the first year in your enrollment at Colorado State University. Your application consists of a written portion of no more than five pages describing your area of interest, and how information technology and computing will play a role in your area of research. In addition, please provide three letters of recommendation. The annual application deadline is Oct. 15, with selection of the Student Scholar being announced in January.
