• Professional associations often offer career information, job postings, networking opportunities, professional development conferences, and mentors who can give you advice to guide you as you get started in your career.
• Professional associations also often offer current news information. Be prepared to discuss current issues in the profession during an interview
• Join the local chapters of your professional associations. As a student, it is usually fairly inexpensive.
• Volunteer at local meetings. This is a great way to meet people. Remember, approximately 80% of jobs are filled before they are even advertised so networking is very important.
