Undergraduate Degree Program

Meet the Students -- Fitsum Hailu

Picture of Fitsum HailuName: Fitsum Hailu

Hometown: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Major: Biomedical Sciences

Minor: Biochemistry

Why CSU? CSU offers the education I was looking for to reach my goal. With diverse opportunities and majors in the life sciences, I am able to expand my knowledge and be ready to attend medical school. CSU is a well-respected institution and it was at the top of my list of universities that I wanted to attend.

Why Biomedical Sciences? I've been waiting for a major such as BMS to come out. What can I say -- it is perfect for me. It is not as broad as other majors, it is simple and sweet. It offers more specific courses that would be perfect for entering into the health sciences.

Favorite Class: I do not have one favorite class, but I have really enjoyed the classes that are challenging. These type of courses are difficult, but they have proven worthy of my time, and honestly most of the science classes I have taken so far fall into this category!

Career Plans: A physician somewhere in the world.

Campus Activities, Organizations, and Programs:

Hobbies: Reading (the Bible), Martial arts (kung fu), Piano, Rock climbing (thank you Ft. Collins!), athletic activities, etc.

Best Studying Tip: Always keep up with the material. Switch from caffeine products to water. Do not underestimate the power of sleep.

Favorite CSU Tradition: Ram-Welcome - this welcoming and transition program for incoming freshman is an exciting and fun experience. I wish (sort of) that I was a freshman every year!
