The Department of Biomedical Sciences places a strong emphasis on research and on involving students and fellows in research activities. The Department is home to the Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology Laboratory, a Program in Research and Scholarly Excellence (PRSE) and departmental faculty are major contributors to the Molecular, Cellular and Integrative Neurosciences PRSE.
Major emphases in the Department include neurobiology, reproductive biology, and a developing focus in cardiovascular physiology. Funding sources include peer-reviewed extramural funding from federal (NIH, NSF, UDSA) and private agencies, Agricultural Experiment Station and Colorado Research Commission funding, contracts and gifts.
