BMS 192 -- First Year Seminar in Biomedical Sciences
Course Description: The university and its resources,
college survival skills, careers in the biomedical sciences; current
issues in health and biotechnology.
Course Objectives:
- To provide students with a knowledge of some of the academic resources
available at Colorado State University.
- To give students an opportunity to practice their oral and written
communication, computer, internet, and critical thinking skills.
- To help student find a sense of belonging within the large university
setting in a small classroom setting.
- To encourage students to discover the opportunities available
for careers in chose field sciences and begin to create an effective
plan toward reaching that goal.
- To provide students a forum to study and discuss current issues
in Biomedical Sciences.
- To help students learn to use or increase knowledge of electronic
transmission processes at Colorado State University including email,
email attachment, uploading and downloading from a website, and
to gain competence in using the tools provided for instructor-student
interaction in RamCT.
Prerequisites: None
Format: 1 credit - 2 hour recitation per week, first
8 weeks of the semester
