UN-FAO Collaborating Centre
The Animal Population Health Institute of Colorado State University is a UN-FAO Collaborating Centre on Veterinary Epidemiology for South America and for North & Central America. Originally, the FAO Collaborating Centre was organized within the Center for Veterinary Epidemiology and Animal Disease Surveillance Systems (CVEADSS). In 2002, CVEADSS was incorporated into the Animal Population Health Institute. A FAO Collaborating Centre provides technical advice, expertise and consultation on specific subjects to FAO Headquarters, field projects and Member Countries and assists in the organization and implementation of training activities. Please see the Animal Health Subject within FAO's Animal Production and Health Division for additional information.

Collaborative efforts are underway or completed in Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, SE Asia, Bosnia, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Republic of Georgia, and Uruguay.
