Welcome to the Animal Population Health Institute!
The Institute's mission is to conduct research and outreach programs that benefit society by improving the well-being of animal populations. Activities within the Institute focus on preventing and controlling important diseases of animals, affecting public health by improving animal well-being and ensuring food safety, and aiding animal related policymaking processes.
Collaborating faculty members within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences contribute their expertise in epidemiology, internal medicine, bacteriology, food animal/equine infectious disease, biosafety/biosecurity, pre-harvest food safety, foreign animal/zoonotic diseases, plant toxicology, clinical testing, and surveillance systems to forward the APHI mission.
