Current Programs

Foreign Animal Disease Course

APHI, USDA:CEAH, and the Colorado Department of Agriculture are co-sponsoring a Foreign Animal Disease Training Course in August 2005. The course is designed to provide participants with instruction in a variety of foreign animal diseases that can impact the livestock, horse, and poultry industries. For additional information, see the brochure and contact Dr. Tony Knight at aknight@colostate.edu.

Basic Epidemiology Course

APHI personnel provide teaching expertise for the delivery of epidemiology training. A new initiative involves the creation of on-line course material under a contract from USDA.  In August 2004, the web-based Basic Epidemiology course was implemented as the first phase of a two phase hybrid training course.  Course participants completed the web-based portion to prepare for a one-week traditional face-to-face training program, which was sponsored by the USDA:APHIS:VS Professional Development Staff under the direction of Dr. Paula Cowen and the Association for Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine
