The Colorado State Department of Agriculture, Animal Population Health Institute, and USDA APHIS Centers for Epidemiology and Animal Health (CEAH) are sponsoring the 5th annual 5-day training course on foreign animal diseases in Fort Collins, Colorado from July 20-24, 2009.

Who Should Attend?
Practicing veterinarians within the United States who desire current information on a variety of foreign animal diseases that could severely impact the livestock, equine, and poultry industries should attend the course. Participants are prepared to be first responders in the event of the introduction of a foreign animal disease.

Register early by completing the registration form. Course enrollment is limited to 40 individuals; this limit was met for all previous courses.
2008 Course Synopsis
The 4th annual 5-day training course on foreign animal diseases was held in Fort Collins, Colorado from July 14-18, 2008. The training course was attended by 39 veterinarians, veterinary students, and allied animal health personnel. The majority of participants were Coloradoans (51%) and all but three individuals came from Colorado or nearby western and plains states (ND, NM, OK, UT, and WY). The training course was well received and all participants who completed a course evaluation believed the course was highly valuable for them (average response of 4.6 on a 5 point rating scale). Selected participant comments include:
