Application Information

Who Can Apply?

The Merial Veterinary Scholars Program at Colorado State University is open to first- and second-year veterinary students from all veterinary schools that participate in the program. Selection is through competitive application with ten positions available for 2011. Students who are accepted into the program will receive a stipend of $4,250.

Update: Added 1/20/11

All students are welcome to apply for both MAF and Merial programs, but will only receive funds for one, even if both are approved. The funds awarded for both the MAF and Merial programs are for stipends only. Students who are accepted into the MAF program will recieve a stipend of $4000. If the college provides matching funds, this means that MAF will provide $2000, the CVMBS Dean's Office will provide $1000 and the mentor will be asked to provide $1000.

For the Merial program, Merial will provide one half of the stipend and the CVMBS Dean's Office and the chosen Mentor will split the remaining stipend cost.

In both the Merial and MAF programs, mentors are expected to cover the cost of supplies and supplies for the research.
