Bioinformatics

The Colorado State University Center for Bioinformatics (CSUCB) provides bioinformatics services to RMRCE researchers. Faculty, post-doctoral students, graduate students, and staff researchers at RMRCE institutions may utilize CSUCB services, resources, and staff support.

Services. CSUCB services include:

  • Microarray Analysis
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Pathway Analysis
  • Genomic and Proteomic Dataset Analysis
  • Computer-Aided Drug Design
  • Assistance using CSUCB computational resources
  • Tightly integrated with RMRCE Genomics and Proteomics Core

Resources. CSUCB resources include:

  • Apple G5 high-performance compute cluster (64-CPU's)
  • HP Proliant database server
  • Oracle bioinformatics database
  • iNquiry Bioinformatics Portal
  • 200+ Bioinformatics software applications
  • Bioinformatics staff
  • 8.5M+ virtual small-molecule compound library for high-throughput screening

Collaborations.

CSUCB manages a formal collaboration with the National Screening Laboratory for the Regional Centers of Excellence in Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases (NSRB). The NSRB maintains small-molecule compound libraries for experimental high-throughput screens. CSUCB includes NSRB compounds in its virtual small-molecule compound library catalog. RMRCE researchers can run virtual screens at CSUCB using NSRB compounds, identify promising drug leads from the in-silico results, and then run experimental screens at NSRB with the most promising leads.
