Dean Presents State of the College in Fall Address“We are continually faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as insoluble problems.” John W. Gardner Dr. Lance Perryman, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, provided an in-depth analysis of the State of the College at the CVMBS Fall 2004 Faculty and Staff Meeting on Oct. 19, highlighting exciting events in the College during the past 12 months and setting a course for the College for the coming year. Dr. Perryman’s presentation included an introduction of new faculty members, recent events, financial State of the College, and an update on the University’s strategic planning process. "This has been very productive year for the College in terms of program growth, grant and contract acquisition, and departmental development,” said Dr. Perryman. “Fiscally speaking, we have met our objectives but funding continues to be a concern as state support waivers and we find ourselves seeking more entrepreneurial ways to support the important work we do here at the College. Thanks to a great faculty and staff, the College continues to be successful in expanding our world-class teaching and research programs and we continue to pursue new areas of excellence.” Highlights from Dr Perryman’s presentation include: Recent Events:
