Lindy

Lindy grew up in northern Nevada on a family ranch. She received her B.S. in Animal Science from Kansas State University in 2001. Upon completion of her DVM degree in 2005, she plans to pursue a career in mixed or large animal practice, with special interest in Beef Cattle.

Fernando is from Colombia, where he was involved in the dairy and beef cattle industry. He obtained a Bachelors degree in Veterinary Science and a Masters degree in Reproductive Physiology at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He will receive his DVM in May 2004. His future plans include post-graduate work in applied research in animal production

Her main interests as a veterinarian is with food animals, however, later in life (when winter is too painful) She may consider laboratory animal medicine. She will receive her DVM in May 2005

She will pursue a PhD in Animal Science with an emphasis in farm animal welfare, her special interest is in mediating the pain associated with common animal husbandry practices.

Sarah grew up in a small, mountain town in rural Colorado. Her background is
primarily equine oriented because she has raised, trained and showed horses for most of her life. She is currently working at CEAH (Center of Epidemiology and Animal Health) where she is participating in the 2002 Dairy Study and several other projects concerning vesicular stomatitis. Her intrests now are in dairy medicine, production and management. Upon graduation in 2004, she hopes to join a dairy or large animal practice in the Rocky Mountain region.
